C.T.H. "Q" (County Line Road), Archive

Week of October 21, 2007

  • Contractor will complete all miscellaneous concrete work.
  • Contractor will complete placement of asphalt in the excavated areas at Town Line Rd. and at a point west of Lannon Rd.
  • Contractor will complete construction of the retaining walls east of Town Line Rd.
  • Contractor will continue to landscape the median and the south side of the road from Town Line Rd. to Lannon Rd.
  • Contractor will grade out the driveways as needed.

There will be short periods when the above operations close the driveways. Please be patient and the contractors have been directed to warn the homeowners of the driveway closures.

The mail boxes on CTH Q will be placed in the end of October when both sides of the road have been completed.

October 14, 2007

  • Contractor completed placing the final lift of asphalt on the south side of the road.
  • Contractor completed placing the final lift of asphalt from Colgate Rd. to a point west of Town Line Rd.
  • Eastbound traffic has been switched to the south road.
  • Contractor is grading out the topsoil on the south side of the road from Townline Rd. to Lannon Rd.
  • Contractor is removing and grading out the temporary traffic lanes at Town Line Rd. and a point west of Lannon Rd.
  • Contractor will construct the permanent median sections in the areas above.
  • Contractor is excavating and constructing the daylight structure for the endangered species crossing at a point west of Lannon Rd.
  • Contractor is scheduled to erect the permanent traffic signals at Town Line Rd.

Week of September 24, 2007

  • Scheduled to complete storm sewer.
  • Scheduled to continue placing roadway stone base courses.
  • Scheduled to start placement of the curb on the east end.

Week of September 17, 2007

  • Contractor completed excavating of roadway.
  • Scheduled to continue placing roadway stone base courses.
  • Scheduled to continue placing storm sewer.

Week of September 2, 2007

  • Labor Day on Monday - no work
  • Contractor scheduled to complete the retaining walls.
  • Continue excavating the roadway and placing roadway stone from a point east of Happy Hollow to Town Line.
  • Start placing storm sewer from the east limits to a point east of Happy Hollow.

Week of August 26, 2007

  • Contractor continues to construct the retaining walls east of Town Line.
  • Contractor is cutting out the road from a point 1500’ east of Happy Hollow to a point 500’ west of Happy Hollow.
  • The contractor is laying the lower course of roadway stone from the east limits to a point 2500’ west of the east limits.
  • The contractor is laying the dense grade roadway stone from the east limits to a point 2000’ west of the east limits.

Week of August 19, 2007

  • Historic storm water events during the week prevented the contractor from working. The contractor maintained the storm water management all week.

Week of August 12, 2007

  • The retaining walls east of Townline Rd. are scheduled to start construction.
  • The removals of the existing road will continue from the east end to a point west.
  • The lower course of roadbed material will start to be placed.

Week of August 5, 2007

  • The contractor is preparing an area east of Townline Rd. for a retaining wall.
  • The contractor is anticipating to start removals of the existing road at the east end of the project, west of Lannon Rd. and work to the west toward Townline Rd.

Week of July 30, 2007

  • The north half of CTH Q from Lannon Rd. to Townline Rd. is complete.

  • Traffic has been switched to the north half and the south half is closed.

  • Residents that live on the south half of the road will use various access points to enter and exit this area.

Week of July 23, 2007

  • Work from Town Line Rd. to Lannon Rd.; including Amy Belle Rd. will consist of:
  • The lower two courses of asphalt will be placed.
  • Driveways will be closed for short periods.
  • Amy Belle Rd. will provide access to the Happy Hollow subdivision.
  • Happy Hollow Rd. will be closed through the end of the week. 
  • At the end of the week Happy Hollow Rd. will open and Amy Belle Rd. will be closed to allow for paving of Amy Belle.    

Week of July 16, 2007

  • The contractor has completed the roadway grading, storm sewer and curb and gutter.
  • Work from Town Line Rd. to Lannon Rd. will include:
    • Placing final lift of stone.
    • Placing guard rail.
    • Landscaping.

Work anticipated for the week of June 18, 2007

  • Continue excavating to Town Line Rd.
  • Excavating Happy Hollow
    • Happy Hollow will be closed for one day and access to the subdivision will be through Amy Belle
  • Excavating Amy Belle
    • Amy Belle will be closed for one day and access to the subdivision will be through Happy Hollow
  • Storm Sewer and subgrade aggregates will be placed in the same area.

The utility work is completed. If there is any utility work that remains unfinished on your property please contact the Project Engineer.

Week of June 11, 2007

The construction activities will be:

  • CTH Q from Town Line Rd. to Colgate Rd.
    • This section of the road is now open to traffic and the detour is no longer in effect
  • Town Line Rd. to Lannon Rd.
    • Continue excavation from a point east of Happy Hollow to Happy Hollow
    • Placement of subgrade aggregates in the same area
    • Placement of storm sewer
  • Town Line Rd. to a point west of Town Line Rd.
    • Sodding, seeding and mulching the landscape areas.

Week of May 20, 2007

The contractor started his construction Monday, April 30, 2007. The construction activities include:
  • Road closure on CTH Q from Town Line Rd. to Colgate Rd.
    • Detour utilizing Lannon Rd., STH 175, STH 167 and STH 164
    • Road closure has been extended to June 6, 2007 due to unforeseen extra work encountered by the contractor in the road closure area
  • Work from a point west of Town Line Rd. to Colgate Rd. will include:
    • Placing crushed limestone over the rubblized surface
    • Placing the first lift of asphalt on Friday, May 25
    • Placing curb at Colgate Rd.
  • Work from Town Line Rd. to a point west of Town Line Rd. will include:
    • Placing stone base
    • Placing storm sewer
    • Pouring concrete median
    • Placement of temporary signal poles at Town Line Rd.
The utility work is coming to completion. All major utility relocations are completed with the exception of WE Energies Gas and their schedule is as follows.
  • Completion of service connections to the new main
  • Restoration of excavated areas in various locations

Week of April 30, 2007

The contractor will start his construction Monday April 30, 2007. The construction activities will be:

  • Road closure on CTH Q from Town Line to Colgate
    • Detour utilizing Lannon, STH 175, STH 167 & STH 164.
  • Work from Town Line to Colgate will include:
    • Breaking the concrete pavement.
    • Removing the concrete pavement.
    • Placing cross culverts and ditching various areas.
  • Work from Town Line to Lannon will include:
    • Placing temporary driving lane on the south side of the road.
    • Removing existing pavement marking.
    • Removing trees and shrubs as necessary.
Various utilities are currently rerouting their lines that are in conflict with the proposed roadway at various locations. These utilities include AT&T, WE Energies; Gas & Electric, McLeod USA, Charter Communication and Time Warner Cable.
  • The Gas Co. will be doing a major relocation from a point west of Town Line Road to a point west of Lannon Road.
  • Work will be outside the roadway but there will be construction equipment accessing the roadway at various points.

Various utilities are currently rerouting their lines that are in conflict with the proposed roadway at various locations. These utilities include AT&T, WE Energies; Gas & Electric, McLeod USA, Charter Communication and Time Warner Cable. Temporary signals, tree removal, traffic control and erosion control are scheduled to be installed prior to construction.
  • The Gas Co. will be doing a major relocation from a point west of Town Line Road to a point west of Lannon Road. Work will be outside the roadway but there will be construction equipment accessing the roadway at various points.
  • Hoffman Construction will be placing the traffic control needed for the detour route and construction area. This traffic control will go into effect on Monday, April 30, 2007.

Week of March 25, 2007

These utilities include AT&T, WE Energies; Gas & Electric, McLeod USA, Charter Communication and Time Warner Cable.
