Sanitary Sewer and Water Main, City of New Berlin

Work on the Moorland Road section of the project is continuing. During the week of June 11 the contractor will start on the sanitary sewer and water main at Sunny Slope Road.

On Tuesday, June 12, with the permission of the City of New Berlin, the contractor will be closing Sunny Slope Road from Grange Avenue to College Avenue to through traffic to allow for the installation of a 36‑inch sanitary sewer from Brook Hollow Court to approximately 600 feet to the north.  This closure is anticipated to last for 8 to 10 working days. The contractor will work on Saturday, June 16, but not on Sunday , June 17 (depending upon weather).

During the time of the closure, there will be no access from Grange Avenue to College Avenue on Sunny Slope Road. All access to the school and Brook Hollow Court will be from College Avenue to Sunny Slope Road.

Information

R.A. Smith National, Inc. has been retained by the City Of New Berlin to oversee the construction of the sanitary sewer and water main improvements in Sections 34 and 35 of the City. This area is located between Sunny Slope Road on the east, Moorland Road on the west, College Avenue on the south and Grange Avenue on the north.

The work will be completed by Veit, Inc. The work involves the installation of 36-inch and 18-inch sanitary sewer and 16-inch water main through the area. In addition, Sunny Slope Road from College Avenue to approximately Brook Hollow Court will be repaved after the sanitary sewer and water main work is completed.

Work is tentatively scheduled to start the first week of May. The actual start date will be determined based on weather and site conditions. During the first week the contractor will be doing preparatory work and expects to start installing pipe approximately 7 to 10 working days after they begin operations. All work on the project is scheduled to be completed by October 15 of this year.

During the construction of this project, the contractor will be using Moorland Road, Sunny Slope Road and College Avenue to move material to and from the project site. Please exercise extra caution when driving in these areas and watch for construction traffic. Traffic patterns on College Avenue and Moorland Road will not change during the construction of the project. In June work is tentatively scheduled to occur on the Sunny Slope Road portion of the project. At that time, traffic on Sunny Slope Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic. Please check this site for specific information concerning the situation on Sunny Slope Road starting in mid-May.
