Construction Technicians - Brookfield, WI
R.A. Smith National has openings available for Construction Services Field Technicians. Candidates for the position should have 8 or more years of previous experience in monitoring the activities of contractors on construction sites that includes sanity sewer installations, roadways, culverts, and etc. (duties do not include the construction of buildings). Field Technicians will provide daily observation and monitoring of the construction process and verify that work is completed in accordance with contract documents and that construction is proceeding is proceeding without unnecessary delays. Individuals selected for this position will assist the Construction Manager in the coordination of construction activities and make recommendations as necessary to the Construction Manager.
Candidates selected to fill these openings will possess a working knowledge of basic surveying and be capable of completing simple level loops, along with offset staking, calculation and staking. Candidates will be working outside the office the majority of the time and must be capable of working independently and have a strong ability to relay all required information as necessary to their supervisor in clear and concise terms. Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with co-workers and the public. An associate degree is considered a plus.

Marketing Internship - Brookfield, WI
R. A. Smith National has an opening for a Marketing Department Internship. The personal selected for this position will work with other marketing professionals to produce professional resumes required for project proposals, help to prepare proposals, maintain client data bases in addition to working on a variety of other assignments and tasks as required.
This opening is available for students who are currently enrolled in school and are pursuing a career in marketing, public relations or advertising. The candidate selected to fill this opening will work 20 hours per week. Candidates should have strong computer aptitude, social media experience/knowledge, have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be flexible and handle a variety of job responsibilities.

Project Engineer - Pittsburgh, PA
R. A. Smith National has an opening available for a site design Project Engineer. Candidates for the position must have previous experience in site development, utilities, grading, drainage, storm water management design and permitting.

New Business Development Project Manager – Pittsburgh, PA
R. A. Smith National is seeking a New Business Development Project Manager for site civil engineering for our Pittsburgh office who enjoys more than the technical aspects of project management.
The candidate selected to fill this position will have the opportunity to utilize civil engineering design and project management skills in support of engineering activities and will be involved in prospecting for new clients through leads and personal visits, and will work with the Marketing Department to prepare promotional programs and presentations for professional and civic organizations.
Candidates for this opportunity must have a PE, 7 to 8 years of site civil design experience, strong people skills, strong public speaking skills an outgoing personality, a flair for sales and promotional activity and possess leadership capabilities necessary to motivate others.
