3D Scanning Project Manager – Pittsburgh, PA

R.A. As the 3D Scanning Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing 3D Scanning services for projects generally in the N.E. region of the country.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accomplishes project commitments independently or as a team.  Plans, directs and supervises various aspects of 3D scanning to include cost estimating, planning, proper work execution, quality management and other related activities
  • Must have a strong background in the overall aspect of 3D Scanning that involves field execution of data capture, processing of data (drafting and 3D modeling) of 3D Scan data using various type of software for registration, geo-referencing, as-built modeling and plan preparation
  • Assesses project requirements, while developing and recommending a sound approach or application to meet the needs of the project and client.  Ensures that project deliverables satisfy project requirements. Prepares and/or reviews proposals, budgets and invoices
  • Manages and enhances project quality by providing ideas and suggestions aimed at improving the effectiveness, and of the project activities in general
  • Mentors and trains team members in project management methods, procedures and activities related to 3D scanning services
  • Participates in corporate initiatives to assist in meeting the company’s goals
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required
Required Experience - Education and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of field/office management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years as Project Manager in the field of 3D scanning or other related geospatial services is required
  • Strong proficiency with 3D scanning software
  • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects
  • Travel required (up to 50% required)

Accounting Specialist — Brookfield, WI

R.A. Smith National is searching for a motivated, organized and detail-oriented person with strong interpersonal skills to join the accounting department of our corporate headquarters in Brookfield, WI. The accounting specialist will focus on project processes and financial-related project activities centering on contracts, billing and collections. This person will report directly to the corporate controller as a member of the accounting team, and will interface with division directors and project managers on a firm-wide basis.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly billing of client invoices
  • Preparing various accounting entries to general ledger
  • Preparing various account reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate and reliable financial information on projects
  • Maintain excellent communication with Project Managers
  • Conducting monthly billing review meetings with project managers
  • Preparing and assisting project managers with Deltek Vision and Vision Reports
  • Reviewing consultant agreements/invoices for payment processing
  • Assisting in collection of accounts receivable
  • Reviewing timesheets on a weekly basis
  • Other tasks as assigned

The candidate selected for this position will have:

  • Associates degree in Accounting or higher preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a professional accounting position.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision software a plus.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Project Manager - Civil Site Design – Irvine, CA

Transportation Project Manager – Madison, WI

R.A. Smith National is currently seeking a civil engineer for the position of Project Manager in our Transportation Division.

Primary responsibilities for this position are:

  • Coordinate and direct both large and small engineering and or planning projects
  • Coordinate and monitor project teams
  • Establish project schedules and monitor progress
  • Ensure project compliance with state and local codes, laws, ordinances and agency requirements
  • Prepare proposals and contracts
  • Estimate project fees
  • Represent the Company at meetings and conferences
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of project engineers and technicians
  •  

The successful candidate must satisfy the following requirements:

  • BSCE degree.
  • A registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin
  • 6+ years of experience in transportation design or planning
  • A strong understanding of the WisDOT process
  • Experience working on WisDOT projects in the SW Region
  • Previous project management experience

Construction Field Services Representatives – Brookfield, WI

R.A. Smith National has a number of openings available for both full-time seasonal and on-call construction field services representatives in our Construction Services Division. Employee benefits are provided for full-time seasonal positions. We are looking for civil engineers or individuals who have previous inspection experience doing either roadway/DOT or municipal projects.

Candidates selected for these positions will monitor the activities of contractors on construction sites and the construction process to verify that work completed is in accordance with contract documents; assist the Construction Manager with the coordination of all construction activities; and provide daily inspection of construction activities.

Candidates must have some survey experience and some computer experience is preferred.
