Tom's presentation will review various design techniques, approaches, principles, successes, pitfalls and roadblocks to designing, getting approvals for and establishing a native landscape in anything but a natural environment – the stormwater facility. Design techniques and real world projects will be shared in relation to using native landscape in site-specific ways. Landscape architects will earn CEUs for attending.

R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – Brookfield, Wis., has added Ben Flitcroft as project surveyor.
Flitcroft has more than 16 years of experience in all aspects of field surveying techniques, including large survey control networks, topographic surveys for design, large building layouts and construction layout for major roads, highways and bridges. His expertise includes static and real-time kinematic GPS methods. In addition to completing field work, Flitcroft’s responsibilities in the office include conducting project research and coordinating field efforts.
Flitcroft has an associate’s degree in the conservation of natural resources from Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wis. He has taken several advanced survey courses at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee, Wis. Flitcroft is a registered land surveyor in the state of Wisconsin.
Flitcroft was most recently employed with a consulting firm in Minocqua, Wis. He is now a resident of Waukesha.
