Dick Schluge, civil engineer at R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – is one of several instructors for the Sanitary Sewer and Collection System Engineering course being offered by the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This comprehensive course will be held December 3-5, 2014 at the Pyle Center in Madison, Wis. The course is designed for wastewater and consulting engineers, operations professionals, federal agency and regulatory staff and others interested in the engineering, operation and improvement of wastewater collection systems. The course also offers the opportunity to earn 18 professional development hours (PDH) and 1.8 continuing education units (CEU).
Schluge has more than 35 years of experience in civil engineering, construction management and sanitary sewerage projects. His engineering and construction work has included a wide range of project sizes and has included open-cut, rehab, tunneling, and horizontal directional drilling projects. He is currently serving as resident engineer at the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
