R.A. Smith National Provides Site Engineering and Land Surveying for Noble Energy Site at Southpointe Town Center

R.A. Smith National is providing site engineering and land surveying services to Horizon Properties for a six-acre site in support of a 207,000-square-foot corporate office for Noble Energy at the Southpointe Town Center development. The town center is located in the Southpointe II Business Park in Cecil Township, Washington County, Pa., just south of Pittsburgh.

Services provided by R.A. Smith National included site layout, grading, utility design, storm water management, erosion control and land surveying. Construction stakeout services are also being provided to Rycon Construction for the erection of the building. The Noble Energy site is anticipated for completion in January 2015. 

R.A. Smith National has provided site engineering and surveying services for several developments at Southpointe including WesBanco which is under construction; several retail and office buildings along Main Street; Hilton Homewood Suites; and 4000 Town Center Boulevard.

R.A. Smith National’s Steve Miazga Named to International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Committee

R.A. Smith National’s Steve Miazga, CDP, business development manager, has been appointed by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) to a three-year term for the Certified Development, Design and Construction Professionals (CDP) Admissions and Governing Committee. The committee’s role is to support all ICSC certifications, and specifically, support and develop a long-term vision for enhancing and expanding the CDP certification within the global retail real estate industry. 

The CDP credential recognizes those who have demonstrated a high level of competency in their specialty through professional work experience and the completion of a half-day written examination in areas that include pre-development, design, construction/construction management, retail store planning, tenant coordination, codes/rules and regulations, project cost management and legal/insurance/ethics.

Miazga served as chair for the ICSC 2013 CenterBuild Conference and co-chair for the 2012 conference. As business development manager at R.A. Smith National, Miazga’s responsibilities include corporate business development planning and implementation, strategic alliances and new market development in the public and private sectors. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering with an emphasis on transportation and land development planning from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Miazga lives in Pewaukee, Wis.
