ASCE Wisconsin Section 2017 Spring Technical Conference
Crowne Plaza Madison Hotel
March 30, 2017

Brad Abraham, construction services project leader at R.A. Smith National, will present at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Wisconsin Section’s spring conference. His presentation will discuss the geosynthetic reinforced soil integrated bridge system (GRS-IBS). In summer 2016, two bridges in Dodge County, Wis., were reconstructed using GRS-IBS. This non-traditional construction method reduced costs and completion times for both bridges. Attendees will learn about this innovative construction method and opportunities to use GRS-IBS to construct bridges in rural areas.

"Lessons Learned from 46,000 Erosion/Sediment Control Inspections" provides a summary analysis of data collected throughout many site erosion and sediment control inspections in several states over a span of years. Mazanec’s "The MS4 Permit: A Holistic Approach to Stormwater Management" presentation takes a step back to view an overall approach for stormwater management per MS4 permit requirements.
