Project surveyor and civil engineer join firm’s eastern regional office
Project surveyor John Woodworth has joined the survey division of R.A. Smith National’s Oakmont office. Additionally, Jason Boley has joined the firm as a civil engineer in the land development services division.
John Woodworth has more than 15 years of surveying experience, serving as crew chief on a wide range of surveying projects for the oil and gas industries, public lands systems and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He also has a heavy focus on metes and bounds (or boundary) surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking.
Woodworth holds his Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) license in the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, Woodworth holds dual associate degrees in surveying technologies and civil engineering from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Jason Boley has more than four years of civil engineering experience. Most recently, his project engineer experience included all aspects of land development, such as site reconnaissance, site layout, grading design, stormwater management, permitting and more.
Boley holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology from Bluefield State College. He also holds an associate’s degree in drafting and design from Southwest Virginia Community College.

R.A. Smith National Promotes Senior Project Manager to Leadership Position
David Cleary received a promotion from senior project manager to assistant director of land development services at R.A. Smith National.
Cleary has been employed with R.A. Smith National’s land development services group as a senior project manager since 2014, but has been with the firm a total of 14 years. A few of his current and recent projects include regional mall redevelopments in Colorado and New Jersey, Sendik’s Food Markets, Portillo’s restaurants in multiple states, and the Westlawn Gardens public housing campus redevelopments.
Cleary has more than 24 years of civil engineering experience in pre-development and design services associated with private, public and federal facilities. He is skilled at developing project-specific approaches and specialized architectural/engineering design teams for his clients, and provides site engineering oversight during pre-design, design and construction project phases.
Cleary is a professional engineer licensed in Wisconsin, Indiana, Minnesota and Michigan. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
