Pat Hawley, Eric Sturm Promoted to Assistant Division Directors

R.A. Smith National’s Transportation and Survey Divisions Gain Experienced Leaders

Pat Hawley

Two of R.A. Smith National’s longtime staff members have received promotions to assist in leading their divisions. Pat Hawley is now the assistant division director of transportation services. Eric Sturm is now the assistant division director of survey services.

Pat Hawley has been employed with R.A. Smith National’s transportation division since 2003, where he leads the traffic group and is a senior traffic project manager. Hawley holds more than 25 years of transportation experience. He specializes in traffic planning, access management, site circulation, traffic impact and parking studies, and roundabouts. Hawley’s most recent project was developing and implementing the transportation plan for the US Open at Erin Hills. 

Hawley is a professional engineer licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois and a professional traffic operations engineer. Additionally, Hawley is a certified Wisconsin Department of Transportation roundabout designer. He holds a master’s degree in civil engineering (transportation focused) from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Marquette University.

Eric Sturm

Eric Sturm has been employed with R.A. Smith National’s survey division since 1995, where he most recently served as project manager. He holds more than 28 years of experience in a wide range of land development survey projects, including residential, commercial and industrial, and roadways.

Sturm is a professional land surveyor in Wisconsin and Illinois. He holds an associate degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute.

Project surveyor and civil engineer join firm’s eastern regional office

Project surveyor John Woodworth has joined the survey division of R.A. Smith National’s Oakmont office. Additionally, Jason Boley has joined the firm as a civil engineer in the land development services division.

John Woodworth

John Woodworth has more than 15 years of surveying experience, serving as crew chief on a wide range of surveying projects for the oil and gas industries, public lands systems and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He also has a heavy focus on metes and bounds (or boundary) surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking.

Woodworth holds his Professional Land Surveyors (PLS) license in the state of Pennsylvania. In addition, Woodworth holds dual associate degrees in surveying technologies and civil engineering from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Jason Boley

Jason Boley has more than four years of civil engineering experience. Most recently, his project engineer experience included all aspects of land development, such as site reconnaissance, site layout, grading design, stormwater management, permitting and more.

Boley holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology from Bluefield State College. He also holds an associate’s degree in drafting and design from Southwest Virginia Community College.
