R.A. Smith National Adds Tina Myers as Ecologist, Project Manager

R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – Brookfield, Wis., has added Tina Myers to its ecological staff. 

Myers has more than 13 years of extensive ecological experience including more than 11 years in private consulting and an additional two years in the public sector working with the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources. She has been acknowledged as a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) with the Society of Wetland Scientists since 2004 and is a Certified Wetland Specialist (CWS) in Illinois. She has a bachelor’s degree in biological aspects of conservation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Myers’ background includes delineation of hundreds of wetlands in Wisconsin and Illinois; wetland functional assessments; wetland mitigation design/construction oversight; wetland and waterway permits; preparation of Environmental Access Plans (EAPs) and Environmental Plans (EPs) for transmission line rebuilds as well as construction monitoring; vegetation surveys including rare plant surveys; plant community mapping and assessment; wildlife surveys; rare species surveys including Karner Blue Butterfly (KBB) surveys; environmental corridor refinement; Environmental Assessments (EAs), feasibility studies and Natural Resource Protection Plans (NRPPs).

Myers will work with Heather Patti, an ecologist who joined R.A. Smith National in 2010, in providing the following ecological services:  wetland delineation; wetland functional assessments; wetland analysis, treatment and design; wetland and waterway permitting; wetland restoration and mitigation; upland habitat restoration; native planting design; environmental monitoring of construction sites; Environmental Access Plans (EAPs); Environmental Plans (EPs); Environmental Assessments (EAs); environmental corridor refinement; feasibility studies; natural area assessments; Natural Resource Protection Plans (NRPPs); stewardship plans; vegetation surveys including rare plant surveys; plant community mapping and assessment; rare and endangered species surveys; and wildlife surveys.

R.A. Smith National’s ecological staff work closely with the firm’s engineers, landscape architects, water resources specialists and surveyors to serve a wide range of public and private sector clients, including developers, government, lake districts/associations, non-profits, private industry, real estate professionals, utilities and others.

Stamborski Will Discuss Soaker Hose Testing at Central States Water Environment Association (CSWEA) Seminar

Chris will discuss soaker hose testing as a means of leakage testing private property sanitary sewer laterals to gauge their performance during wet weather events. Soaker hose testing is just one component of the sanitary sewer evaluation studies R.A. Smith National typically completes for local units of government who are interested in evaluating and improving their sanitary sewer system. R.A. Smith National recently provided soaker hose testing in the city of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
