Daniel Whitefoot, E.I.T. has joined the Brookfield office of
R.A. Smith National — civil engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, geographic information systems (GIS) and 3D visualization consultants — as a civil engineer in the transportation division.
Whitefoot has experience working with both local governments and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. He has a variety of transportation experience including vertical and horizontal road layout, earthwork, quantities, cost estimates, and storm sewer design. Whitefoot has two bachelor’s degrees; one in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the second in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Whitefoot currently resides in Kenosha, Wis.

John Frydrych, eastern regional manager and senior project manager, of R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – has attained the Certified Development, Design and Construction Professional (CDP) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). The CDP credential recognizes those who have demonstrated a high level of competency in their specialty through professional work experience and the completion of a half-day written examination which demonstrates competence in pre-development, design, construction/construction management, retail store planning, tenant coordination, codes/rules and regulations, project cost management, and legal/insurance/ethics.
Frydrych manages R.A. Smith National’s Pittsburgh office and is heavily involved in project management with his team of engineers and surveyors. He is licensed as a professional engineer in six states and brings 21 years of broad-based civil engineering, municipal engineering and land development design experience to the eastern region. His professional expertise is engineering design in all aspects of land development, including infrastructure and utility design, site layout, hydraulic/hydrologic analyses, erosion and sedimentation control planning, and applicable regulatory permitting.
Frydrych has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology and a master’s degree in engineering management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh. He currently resides in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.
