APPLETON, Wis. — John Kastner, project engineer in the Construction Services Division of R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – Wis., has obtained his Wisconsin professional engineer registration.
Kastner has ten years of experience in various engineering construction and design roles for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, local government and private developers. His experience includes the construction monitoring of asphalt and concrete paving, grading, curb & gutter, guardrail, water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, sidewalk ramp replacement, bridge deck preparation, construction staking, landscaping, traffic control, traffic staging, pavement marking, permanent signing, and erosion control. Kastner has also provided site design services for a variety of public and private sector projects, involving roadways, parking lots, grading, paving, utilities, stormwater management and erosion control.
Kastner’s most recent project experience includes providing construction services for a two‑mile rehabilitation of CTH VV, Waukesha County; two-mile rehabilitation of CTH X, Waukesha; and a 15-mile rehabilitation, including the repair of 15 bridges on Interstate Highway 43 in Manitowoc County.
Kastner has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a resident of Milwaukee.
