Signage Inventory and Retroreflectivity Program, Waupun, Wisconsin

A sign inventory was conducted of more than 3,000 existing street signs in public rights-of-way in the City of Waupun and the Town of Waupun in support of a sign retroreflectivity program for the City of Waupun. The city of Waupun’s Cartegraph sign management software was used to develop a sign management program in compliance with requirements of the Federal Highway Administration’s Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The field inventory included recording the sign location at mapping grade accuracy using GPS-enabled mobile data collectors. Additional data collected included sign type, message, shape, size, ground clearance, sign material type, general sign face direction and a digital photo.
