John Bruggeman, transportation engineer at R.A. Smith National – a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm – Brookfield, Wis., has received a $1,000 scholarship to attend the annual Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) conference. Bruggeman, the current ITE Wisconsin Section president, was awarded the scholarship based on his application, essay and professional resume.
Bruggeman is excited to receive this scholarship and attend this highly acclaimed conference. The ITE conference, which focuses on sharing information and ideas about transportation issues, will be held on August 12-15, 2012 in Atlanta, Ga.
Bruggeman joined R.A. Smith National in 2004 as a transportation engineer. He is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in Wisconsin and a professional traffic operations engineer (PTOE). Bruggeman’s most notable experience is traffic impact studies and traffic signal design. His primary responsibilities include traffic analysis and modeling, traffic signal design and plan development, traffic signal timing, cost estimating, data collection, traffic forecasting and quality control.
Bruggeman lives in Glendale, Wis.
