Park Shore Bike Trail - St. Francis, Wisconsin

Park Shore Bike TrailR.A. Smith National designed a bluff-top bike trail as part of the firm’s site engineering and design services for this 60-acre multi-family residential and commercial development. The project is located on the Lake Michigan bluff in the City of St. Francis.

The original Oak Leaf Trail segment in St. Francis was 8 feet wide, about 20 years old, approximately 2,700 feet long and located within the right-of-way of Lake Drive.

The new asphalt path is 10 feet wide, just more than 1 mile long and runs between Lake Michigan and the Park Shore development. Today, users are able to bike, skate and run along the lakefront and away from traffic on Lake Drive.

The trail is part of the Milwaukee County Oak Leaf Trail system and was developed on both private and public land in partnership with Milwaukee County Parks Department. The entire Oak Leaf Trail is 99 miles long and loops around Milwaukee County.
