Pabst Farms Survey -
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Surveying services provided to the Pabst Farm development in Oconomowoc, Wis., included the preparation of an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey for the real estate closing; certified survey maps to define tax incremental financing (TIF) boundaries; and a plat of survey with topographic and utility detail to be used as a base map for future site design.
A sonar/GPS digital recording unit was used to survey the bottom of a 16-acre pond. Survey staff collected approximately 4,000 data point in 1.5 hours compared to the nearly 133 hours or about 17, eight-hour working days it would have taken to complete the survey using traditional methods.
In addition, GPS equipment on an all-terrain vehicle was used to collect site topography data for the 1,500 acres. GPS and real-time kinematics (RTK) processing methods were used to collect 300 acres of site topography in just 1.5 days compared.
