Sports & Recreational Facilities

At R.A. Smith National our interdisciplinary team works with communities as well as educational institutions on a variety of sports and recreational projects. Our mission is to work closely with our clients to create important spaces that best address the specific needs of the adults and youth who will use the facilities.

From initial site analysis through construction, our team of experts provides comprehensive services that include site planning, site design, landscape architectural design, irrigation design, 3D visualization, land surveying and construction services.

R.A. Smith National’s experience consists of a wide range of projects, including little league diamonds, softball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, soccer fields, sport complexes and more.

Current Projects - Spring 2009
R.A. Smith National is currently working with the City of Pewaukee and the Grafton Little League Association on new sports facilities projects.

In Pewaukee, the City is working on plans for a 64-acre sports complex on park land north of Lindsay Road and west of Highway 74. R.A. Smith National is providing design services for the first phase of the park, including four baseball diamonds, a football field, six soccer fields, parking lots, geotechnical investigation, grading, soil testing, mound systems, stormwater management, landscape architecture, irrigation and lighting.

R.A. Smith National is also working on the Grafton Little League project. This project is located on 20 acres at the far south end of the Village. The facility is planned to include six baseball diamonds, a playground and parking for 300 cars. R.A. Smith National will provide design services for the ball field, playground and parking lot; grading; stormwater management; landscape architecture and irrigation; and lighting design
