Cabela's Detention Basin

 R.A. Smith National designed three detention ponds and one infiltration basin as part of the firm’s site engineering and landscape design services for a new Cabela’s store in Richfield, Wisconsin. A significant challenge overcome by R.A. Smith National was designing the detention ponds around a large reserved septic field area on the site which also had significant topographic relief. The detention ponds were designed to meet Washington County’s stormwater ordinance and manage stormwater runoff from the new development, in addition to not exceeding existing flows to the right-of-ways of adjacent USH 41 and USH 45.
